Basic Introduction, Intermediate Programs, Advanced Studies, Sound Pedagogic

We offer free information evening workshops for people interested to learn more about sound and singing bowls. These classes are usually held prior to the seminar on Sound massage I or II and are geared towards individuals wanting to pursue further education.

Basic courses in Peter Hess-sound massage consist of four different types of seminars and a final practicum. Upon completion a certificate will be issued which enables the participants to practice sound massage on a professional level.

Advanced programs are geared towards skilled sound masseurs and serve to improve and exchange their experiences and learn more about the ever-increasing ranges for the use of sound massage therapy.

This is an open invitation to learn and know more about sound and singing bowls.

Sound Massage I		DATES

Part 1 - Basic Introduction to sound massage upon the dressed body for relaxing techniques and wellness. You will learn when to apply certain kinds of sound and find out how different sounds influence different parts of the body. Upon completion of this seminar you will be able to practice sound massage for your own purpose.

Sound Massage II		DATES

Part 2 – Possibilities and ideas to learn more advanced and better targeted body influenced sound massage. Special attention is given to the development of the necessary sensitivity to the awareness of our aura and health aura. A wide range of exercises will enhance and explore the many possibilities of sound massage for health purposes. The importance of the relationship to various clients will also be discussed.

Sound Massage III+IV		DATES

This seminar will discuss and explore extensive experiences made with sound massage and will offer resolution to the so-called 'difficult cases'. Another focus will be emotions and how to handle them as a necessary step towards achieving the capability to responsible handle clients respectfully. Special attention is paid to the development of professionalism with reference to sound massage: eliminating personal boundaries with your client, realizing the limits of sound massage and your own and last but not least to learn about your own juridical position and laws. Another part centers on the targeted treatment of physical trouble zones as well as experiencing new elements of our aura – the chakras. A wide range of exercises will enhance your security in your doings. The next step will be to pay attention to the body’s chakras which are perceptive to sound. In a holistic sense we realize and experience the effects of sound in our body, aura and chakras.

Sound Massage I-IV	Intermediate Level	DATES

This seminar covers all the basic training with the advantages of concentrated learning in an atmosphere of intensity and relaxing.

Evaluation		DATES

Evaluation takes place 2-3 months after completion of the intermediate level to finalize basic study. The focus will be on experiences made practicing sound massage and to find solutions for unsolved cases. At the end of this process you will receive a certificate that will enable to practice Peter Hess-sound massage on a professional level and conform to local juridical restrictions.

Advanced Studies are offered by the Institute for Sound-Massage-Therapy and by the European Association (Europäischer Fachverband e.V.). The prerequisite are the completion of the basic and intermediate levels in Peter Hess-sound massage (exceptions are at the discretion of the tutors). These studies cover a broad range of working with sound massage and entail the following: • Evaluation of basic education • Increasing the range of applications and improving techniques • Guidance and tips for practicing sound massage • Help in your practice and personal development • Exchange of experiences among practicing sound masseurs A conference takes place every year organized by the European Association (Europäischer Fachverband Klang-Massage-Therapie e.V.). To stay abreast with new developments it is expected from all educated sound masseurs to attend an advanced study at least biannually.

Sound Massage and Sound Games for kids		Manuela Kainz

The program is geared to educated sound masseurs who wish to gain comfort in responsibly working with children. More and more children show the symptoms of learning disabilities as well as problems with their behavior throughout play. For this reason many teachers, educator and parents for new ways and methods for relaxation as well as to increase abilities in concentration and endurance. This program covers basic information of sound massage for the use of learning disabilities and will explore the range of applications used to improve learning capabilities and behavioral problems through practical examples. Contents: • Sound massage for learning disabilities • First sound contact with children or groups • Play with sound to improve concentration • Relaxation with children Various techniques that are used with adults are applicable with children such as exploring the inner child and warmth which makes us feel loved. Awaking the inner child and evoking this decision, are changing the current perception of our world!

Gong I - Introduction		Elisabeth Dierlich

Working with the Gong needs a secure setting and profund knowledge of this instrument to grant a sensitive and responsible use of its powers. In this seminar we learn to know the chinese Tam Gong, its sound qualities and varieties of expressions. We will sensitize our hearing and follow the sound across the borders of silence. We will learn techniques to play the Gong for sound meditation as well as weaving a sound carpet for guided sound and fantasy voyages. Necessarily we introduce basical knowledge about structures and practice of meditations and voyages. Topics of the seminar: • general knowledge and opportunities to use a Gong • experiencing its sound qualities and varieties of expressions • playing techniques in guided sound meditations and sound and fantasy voyages • basical knowledge about structures of meditations and fantasy voyages We will enjoy the practical use of our lessons in this tutorial.

Topics of this seminar: • exploring our flow of breath • connecting breath with sound for targeting inner areas of the body • improving capability of percepting impulses via the body's aura • practical use of the lessons for sound massage Sond-Body-Therapy is based e.g. on the works on energy and breath by Wilhelm Reich, the bio-dynamical theory by Gerda Boyssen, on buddhist practices for breathing and meditation as well as on the Vedic art of healing, practised since 5000 years. Conscious breathing feeds our energetic body improves our presence and opens our whole potential. The Gong accompanies this tutorial.

Sound Pedagogic Basics

Two seminars of the whole course Peter Hess-Sound Pedagogic will take place in Austria every year and will serve as basic education. Aim of this program is to increase your competency and your range of activities up to this point and the possible development of a new professional outlook (example: free practicing sound pedagogic). Key Points: •Targeted application of sounds and routines to accompany various methods •Profound knowledge regarding influences and effects of sounds and about sound materials •Use of specific methods in various sound settings such as groups and individuals •Methods enhancing learning and concentration capabilities •Detailed information regarding disabilities, adolescence psychology and family dynamics •Basic physiology of learning as well as psychiatry and psychotherapy to gain perspective of the boundaries concerning clients Guidelines Participants will provide: •Complete education in Peter Hess-sound massage •Exposure or experience in one of the following areas: education, consulting, school, therapy, pedagogic or beneficial pedagogic, spiritual advisor or caretaker of souls accompanying the mourning and related •Participation in both seminars 'Instinctive Self-Confidence' and 'Creating sound- and fantasy voyages' which are part of the whole course •Additional seminars are offered to participants without any prior education in sound pedagogic

One of the most basic needs of mankind is to uphold an 'impenetrable' instinctive self-confidence. This type of confidence is highly endangered in today’s world. Many feel uprooted in a world lacking sense, materially secured they suffer from lack of orientation, are afraid of the future and feel inferior and depressed. How can we regain feelings of real safety, sense of life and a happy way of live? The most important basis we know is to develop a relationship with ourselves impacting how we relate to all other creatures. This seminar will teach us how to connect to ourselves, unveil our hidden needs and feelings and help us recover a loving relationship within. Our self-confidence is going to reflect in all of our relationships. Working with sounds guides us back to our wholeness – allowing to be touched and creating space for the unknown and new.

Creating sound- and fantasy voyages	Petra Zurek	Reichenau/Rax

Children love fairy tales and stories so do adults. Fairy tales display common pleasures of being human in a symbolic language and offer traditional solutions as well as stories do and are used for (Sufi Tradition). Sound pedagogic enhances mostly relaxation, increases wellness and perception of our inner worlds. These areas are targeted by relaxing sounds of singing bowls as well as by fantasy journeys or trance voyages – in our case by an optimized combination of both options. This seminar focuses exactly on that, learning how to use fantasy and trance-voyages within a wide range of applications within sound pedagogic. We will guide you through either a 'ready to use' or 'self created' fantasy journey and create holistic harmony among rhetorical expression and applications of sound.
